Daisy Brown (Mabel): During her studies at Trinity Laban‚ Daisy was awarded the Eva Malpass Scholarship and the City Livery Club Music Section prize. She was a Finalist in the Thelma King awards‚ a Semi-Finalist in the Handel Festival Singing Competition and was Highly Commended by the Boise Foundation Award. Recent and future engagements include Masha The Queen of Spades‚ Tweedle Dee Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Mabel The Pirates of Penzance (Opera Holland Park)‚ Adina The Elixir of Love Community Tour and Karolka Jenufa (Opera North). Concert and oratorio appearances include her Royal Albert Hall debut in Messiah with Brian Kay‚ Paul Carr Requiem for an Angel‚ Mozart Missa Brevis for Leith Hill Music Festival‚ Faure Requiem and Mozart’s Coronation Mass with Sutton Valance Choral Society and Mozart Requiem and Solemn Vespers with Ely Choral Society.

Nicholas Sharratt (Frederic): Born in Nottingham, Nicholas studied commerce at Birmingham University and singing at the Royal Northern College of Music and the National Opera Studio. For Opera North his roles include Lucano and Soldier L’incoronazione di Poppea, Camille de Rosillon The Merry Widow, Flute A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Lamplighter The Portrait and Pedrillo Die Entführung aus dem Serail He works regularly with Jonathan Dove, for whom he created Soppy Hat Swanhunter, Adam The Walk from the Garden and The Soldier The Unknown Soldier. Other opera appearances include Sam Ghost Patrol for Music Theatre Wales, Paris King Priam, Tamino and Fernando Il furioso nell’isola di San Domingo for English Touring Opera, Nanki-Poo The Mikado and Frederic The Pirates of Penzance. He regularly sings in concert, in venues including Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, Royal Festival Hall and Royal Albert Hall for the BBC Proms. This autumn, Nicholas makes his Royal Opera House debut in a new production of Shostakovich The Nose directed by Barrie Kosky.

Lucy Schaufer (Ruth): Lucy Schaufer is a lauded performer of composers as diverse as Adams, Birtwistle, Knussen, Dove, Benjamin, Corigliano, Weir and Heggie. This past season brought four world premieres: Mark Adamo Becoming Santa Claus (The Dallas Opera/DVD Pentatone), Richard John Comrade Rockstar (Guildford, UK), Cross Currents: 11 new songs based on Berio’s Folks Songs (Birmingham Contemporary Music Ensemble, UK), Philip Venables 4.48 Psychosis (Royal Opera House), and the UK premiere of Peter Eotvos The Golden Dragon for Music Theatre Wales and the Buxton Festival. Recently, Lucy made her debut with the John Wilson Orchestra at the BBC Proms - Bernstein: Stage and Screen (BBCRadio3/BBC4), her return to Los Angeles Opera for the “Figaro Trilogy” and her debut for Opera Holland Park in FLIGHT. In 2016-17 she returns to ENO as Ruth in Pirates of Penzance and debuts with Opera Philadelphia as Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro. Lucy's first solo recording, CARPENTERSVILLE, co-produced by her company Turn the Page Productions and ABC Classics was the Editor’s Choice in Classical Music Magazine.

John Savournin (Pirate King): John is the Artistic Director of Charles Court Opera, one of the leading exponents of G&S productions in the UK. This season, he directs CCO’s tenth Christmas pantomime, a Whistle Stop Opera production based around Hansel and Gretel for Opera North; The Mikado for CCO in London, and The Barber of Seville for CCO at the Iford Arts Festival. As a performer, he has sung roles across the UK for several major opera companies.  Recent highlights include Peter Quince, Britten A Midsummer Night's Dream and second Gunman, Kiss me, Kate, both for Opera North, Colline, La boheme, for Opera Holland Park, Alidoro, Rossini La Cenerentola for Scottish Opera, The Immigration Officer in Jonathan Dove Flight, Opera Holland Park and Peter Maxwell Davies Eight Songs for a Mad King with the Ossian Ensemble and the Lands End Ensemble in Canada.

Richard Suart (Major General Stanley): Richard has sung Ko-Ko Mikado for English National Opera since 1988 in Jonathan Miller’s celebrated production, also performed in New York and Venice. For ENO he has sung King Gama Princess Ida and Major-General Stanley Pirates of Penzance  and, for Welsh National Opera, Jack Point Yeomen of the Guard in a production that performed at the Royal Opera House under Sir Charles Mackerras. Richard has been a member of the D'Oyly Carte since 1988 with whom he has sung many of the Savoy Operas as well as La Vie Parisienne and Orpheus in the Underworld. His involvement with the works of Gilbert and Sullivan led him to create As a Matter of Patter which he has performed throughout the UK, as well as in Cape Town and the Middle East. He has appeared as The Duke of Plaza-Toro The Gondoliers, The Lord Chancellor Iolanthe and Sir Joseph Porter HMS Pinafore at the BBC Proms, and has performed at Gala Concerts in the UK, North America and Canada. Recent engagements have included The Merry Widow (Michigan Opera), Martin/Pangloss Candide (Opera di Firenze) and The Pirates of Penzance (Scottish Opera).
