Bristol
Ensemble

Bristol Ensemble is a lively and dynamic ensemble formed in 1996 by Roger Huckle. It is the largest independent classical music organization based in the South West and has an extensive concert and education programme. The Ensemble performs classical and contemporary music throughout the UK, giving 60-70 concerts a year. Since April 2009 Bristol City Council has granted the Bristol Ensemble Key Arts Provider status.

Their work has brought them into contact with many familiar names such as Willard White, Emma Kirkby, Lesley Garrett, Freddy Kempf, Julian Lloyd Webber, James Bowman, Emma Johnson, Wayne Marshall, Jethro Tull, Natalia Lomeiko, Andy Shepherd, Roni Size, Cirque Bijoux and Derek Paravacini, to name but a few. The Ensemble has recorded the music for the David Attenborough BBC series ‘Life in Cold Blood’ and ‘Life on Earth’, and for many other BBC and independent natural history documentaries.
